DDS reclamation yard is situated just off the A299, a short distance from the port of Ramsgate, with its Royal Harbour Marina and Regency homes make it a worthwhile visit or stop for lunch.
Ramsgate was the home of Augustus Welby Pugin the most influential architect of the nineteenth century, best remembered for his interior design work on the Houses of Parliament.
Pugin built his home “The Grange” for himself and his family in 1843, and is buried next to The Grange in his church St Augustins Priory. The Grange is now owned by the Landmark Trust and can take bookings for up to 8 people to stay or visits by appointment on wednesdays.
